Why Neways Skin Care Products
"Neways Skin Care is a revolution to most new customers, and they just need to
understand just why it works so well."
Help! My skin feels really dry… is often heard by a new customer to the Neways range
of Skin Care products and yet it is the best news they could give.
It means that the products are working to revitalise and recondition their skin.
Tom Mower developed a range of skin care products based upon good scientific research
into, not only safe, non carcinogenic products, but those which would work in harmony with
the body, instead of ageing the skin prematurely by damaging the skin cells.
The normal approach is to 'cleanse, tone, and moisturise' and in most cases this means
blocking the matrix of the skin and causing 'flooding' to the area. So take a look
at the journey a cell makes to the surface of the skin.
Skin Cell Cycle
It takes around four weeks for the new cell to reach the surface of your skin and during
this time, it loses its moisture content quite dramatically.
Starting with a water content of approximately 95%, this reduces to less than 1% by the
time it is dead and on the surface.
I believe it is now common knowledge that people realise that the skin is the largest
organ of the body and is permeable - in other words, some things that are put onto the
skin can enter. A good example of this, are the patches, which are used to help
people stop smoking.
The skin is also "mesh-like" which allows passage both into and out of the body,
providing that the molecular size is small enough to pass through this mesh.
This is one to try at home… Take a clove of garlic, and put it between your big
toe and the second toe. Wait for around ten minutes (possibly a little longer
depending upon how your metabolism and circulation are). After this time has elapsed
you will be able to smell garlic on your breath!
An average moisturiser has a molecular size too large to enter the skin and pass through
the surface. Instead, it blocks the mesh and the body floods the area with water to
try and flush away the blockage. To give you a greater understanding of this, take a
plaster and leave it on your skin for a day or so. When you remove the plaster you
will see how very pink and wet the surface is. This is the body trying to defend
itself from harm.
This 'flooding' drowns the cell, so the next thing we are told to do is exfoliate the dead
cells and expose those just below the surface before they are really ready to deal with
the environment. They now wear away earlier than they should and the more the woman
uses those skin care preparations, the earlier her skin will age.
Unfortunately, most men have a skin, which appears younger than many women of the same
age. It's dreadful isn't it! And yet, Neways skin care works in a different
way.
The major Difference!
Tom Mower decided that to really make a difference, we would have to sacrifice the next
two or three weeks, growth of cells in order to bring about a long-term solution to the
problem.
He set out to try and stop just 1% of the moisture loss and keep the new surface cell at
2% water - in other words, twice as moist as before.
The Neways skin care products have a molecular weight of 750 to be able to go through the
skin, whereas most high street brands have an average molecular weight of around
3000. They are technically humectants, in other words, they are bringing the
moisture from within.
But, with the Neways Skin Care range, they work in a totally different way, working with
your body. But, don't expect many results for the first four weeks - your body still
needs to go through its regular cycles and no-one can alter this!
The regime that Tom Mower (founder) evolved was as follows:
Step 1 and Week 1
Cleanse the skin to clear away the old heavy blockages and at the same time start to
re-tension the matrix of the skin.
The cleanser should be either Milky Cleanser or Extra Gentle Cleanser.
The Milky cleanser is extremely mild and is for dry, delicate or mature skin.
This is the mildest cleanser that Neways produce and will gently remove make-up, dirt and
the impurities we face in our daily lives. However, if using this to start with, it
is also advisable to use the Extra Gentle Cleanser at least once or twice a week.
The Extra Gentle Cleanser is often used by younger people, but is still very mild,
although this will gently emulsify the grease and oils present in the skin and draw out
any impurites. This will also deal with heavier soils and oils by its deep pore
action.
Both of the above cleansers work thoroughly without upsetting the delicate acid mantle of
the skin - Very important if your skin is still to look 'young' in later years.
Even more importantly, they do not block the skin, or contain propylene glycol and the
body does not flood the area to try to wash away the intruder. Therefore, your skin
is bound to feel dry compared to what you were doing previously. However, this is a
good sign, as it shows that the skin is now improving.
By now, the 'new' cell is just three weeks away from the surface, which is now cleaner and
ready to accept that cell.
Step 2 and Week 2
The top layer of the skin is now clear to proceed as week one, but now start to use
Retention Plus and BioMist Activator as well.
The Retention Plus contains cross linked elastin (which all wrinkled skin is low in) and
with a molecular size of just 456, it will penetrate the surface and work to diminish the
appearance of fine lines and wrinkled ageing skin. Neways have found a way to
stabilise the important elements desmosine and is-desmosine in cross linked elastin, thus
helping to reduce the effect of skin ageing.
Retention plus also contains grape seed extract, an effective antioxidant, to help fight
against free radical activity, Vitamin A to rebuild the skin, essential fatty acids
necessary for cellular energy production and enhances the skin's natural moisture levels
with rose hip oil. It supports the body's normal rate of skin cell reproduction with
Ceramide 6, a yeast derived lipid similar to ceramide 6 found naturally in human skin, yet
also supports new skin cell production with Erothionine to help your skin retain its
youthful appearance.
After applying Retention Plus, you must always use BioMist Activator, which is a water
based moisturiser, to carry the Retention Plus deep down into the skin.
If however, it is a young person, or teenager, they need not use Retention Plus.
Step 3 and Week 3
Continue as for weeks 1 and two, but now you can add things like wrinkle garde, firm up,
etc to the regime.
To give you an idea, Wrinkle garde is like a face supplement for the skin, helping to
replenish and revive for a look of suppleness and beauty. Tom Mower originally
discovered this geranium based oil in a South American Burns Unit, where it was being used
effectively to reduce scarring and wrinkles. Reformulated and patented, it contains
Hyaluronic Acid, which is abundant in infancy, but dramatically reduces with age. It
will hold around 6000 times its own weight in water and helps repair skin, enhance the
depth and promote a health glow as well as slowing down the ageing process.
Again, BioMist will enhance the properties of wrinkle garde, as will massaging well into
the skin.
For someone young, they can now use not just a cleanser (normally extra gentle cleanser),
but add in the biomist activator and even the barrier cream if they wish to.
By the way, barrier cream is an excellent base to use before applying any make-up.
It is by this time that the skin can feel very tight and dryer than usual. This is a
good sign, so don't be alarmed. However, there is help at hand if you can't put up
with that feeling, you can add Rebound or Firm Up.
Step 4 and Week 4
Your new cell is now reaching the surface in week four. The skin is nourished and
moist, promoting a really good base for the cell to survive as a good healthy example of
skin.
Now is the time to start protecting the skin against the ravages of our daily
environment. This is where you add skin enhancer for the daytime regime and night
science to finish off the routine at bedtime.
Just a light application of one of the finest and most complete protecting ingredients
ever compounded for the skin, skin enhancer contains Super Oxide Dismutase. This
ingredient intercepts and neutralises free radicals in the skin. Vital for a
youthful appearance as well as a UV protector and filter against pollutants.
Skin enhancer should not be used for people who have blemished or acne skin, so if this is
the case, you should look at using eliminator (spray on and leave to dry naturally) and/or
imperfection lotion.
Ist Impressions Cleanser can also be added at this stage for a deeper clean, which can
also help with fungal and bacterial problems like acne.
You will be pleased to know that by the end of the fourth week, the new cell has now
journeyed through a clean, moist, nourished epidermis layer, and is now being protected
against the environment and has a good chance of surviving as long as possible in a good
condition.
If after a while, you are still seeing those lines and wrinkles, which are just not going,
instead of wrinkle garde, you can use the circles and lines, which is designed to aid in
those deep lines, whereas the wrinkle garde is more for the fine lines.
