Vitamin E ...
...offers protection against diabetes.
Protection against type ll diabetes.
A new study published recently found that Vitamin E might protect against the
development of type II diabetes.
A significant rise in the disease has been noted among the American population over the
last decade and researchers at the University of South Carolina tried to determine if
vitamin E could reduce this risk.
The team studied 895 participants and estimated their vitamin E intake. They concluded that vitamin E may protect against
the incidence of diabetes.
Vitamin E can be excellent for arthritis sufferers. But
this vitamin can also slow down peroxidation cycles, stabliase cell membrane structures
and prevent blood clotting.
Vitamin E is also known to slow the progression of free radical activity and protects
prostacyclin (PG12) production, which is the hormone that gives blood vessels a
teflon-like coating to keep the blood flowing.
Powerful Antioxidant Properties
Vitamin E aids in the protection of fat-soluble vitamins and protects Vitamin A
from destruction by oxygen.
This powerful vitamin is commonly used as an antioxidant and is so well known that Vitamin
E deficiency very seldom occurs.
And, according to Duane Weed Vitamin E helps to increase the fluidity of the blood and is
necessary for structural and functional maintenance of the skeletal, cardiac and smooth
muscle membranes. It also helps maintain
Vitamin A and increase its storage in the body, and does the same for the mineral iron.
If however, you are taking large doses of beta-carotene, this will increase your bodies
needs of Vitamin E intake.
